The masterplan provides the planning strategy for the new resort development including boutique hotel and unique guest houses with tea-house pavilions placed amongst densely planted pine forest along the coast and residential and mixed-use commercial development set against the backdrop of mountain. The planning strategy borrows from the traditional asian landscape ideas that respect geographical site conditions with architecture exploring scenery borrowed from the surrounding context including vistas distance view of the mountain framed by the forest, sound of the sea waves, landscape characterised by the four distinctive seasonal variations.

The design explored modern architecture that fuse with the traditional Asian landscape wisdom and culture. Making best use of local traditions and the construction techniques, the planning framework aspired to a placemaking that would contribute to the local community as well as targeting the international audience.
